Healthy Energy Drinks For A Long Life
Healthy energy drinks are hard to find. Number One Reason is you've got to know what you're looking for and not be distracted by phony claims.Frankly, there aren't many brands that would qualify as "Healthy Energy Drinks" by my standards. Most of what is out there in the market is already disqualified by their use of enormous amounts of sugars and anhydrous caffeine, which are just a cheap way to produce a short-lived sledgehammer effect, then a crash, and a desperate search for another burst of energy just to keep doing what you've got to do. Then, too, a lot of people who rely on energy drinks are so unhealthy in their diet and lack of exercise that it takes an energy drink strong enough to raise the dead to have any effect on them. This page isn't for those folks. They wouldn't appreciate anything subtle enough to qualify as healthy.
Here's a little primer on Energy Drink Facts
My Standards Are Pretty StrictIf you are looking for healthy energy drinks, let's make sure we agree on what that means. Everyone has their own standards -- all the way from no caffeine, no artificial ingredients to being okay with some form of stimulant, but low sugar, and NO artificial sweeteners. I fall on the latter end of the continuum. Like most of the people on this planet, I enjoy some form of stimulation and don't see that it does me any harm. (Fifty-three years of reading medical research has not convinced me otherwise.) I respect those that have a lot of energy without resorting to any kind of stimulant. I really do...but I'm not in that group presently. Maybe someday, but I enjoy my healthy energy drinks too much to give them up until I find something better. I was going to recommend FRS, the brand promoted by Lance Armstrong, as the super-healthy alternative, but I can't. I just read the ingredient labels and find there is a low level of caffeine and green tea, but -- more importantly -- Sucralose and some other artificial sweeteners in most of their packages. So, That one's off my list. Dr. Mercola and Dr. Russell Blaylock have written extenively about the dangers of Sucralose use, plus I have had some bad experiences with it(before I knew better!), so I will have to retract the reco I was going to give FRS. Crave, produced by the Vitamark network marketing company also looked pretty interesting until I saw the Sucralose in their formula. "Another one bites the dust!"
Recently, I found another company has entered the selection for Healthy Energy Drinks and that is USANA Health Sciences. It's called Rev3 and it meets all my criteria, except for one.It only contains 2 grams of sugars, uses white, green, and black teas for energy boost, plus it contains Korean ginseng and Rhodiola rosea, olive leaf extract, Coenzyme Q-10, and L-Carnitine, which all have important parts to play in mellowing the effects and protecting the body from free radical damage. The only problem with Rev3 is that it costs more than twice as much as my long-time favorite, A.C.T. Energy Drink! A.C.T. or DrinkACT as it's sometimes called, derives its energy from Guarana mainly, which gives it a long-lasting smooth happy buzz. Not jittery at all, unlike most energy drinks. I cover all its ingredients
HERE.
I honestly haven't found anything better than A.C.T., which stands for Advanced Cellular Therapy and does a fine job at a fantastic price, day after day. I've been enjoying A.C.T. for three years now. If it wasn't healthy for the long haul, I wouldn't be drinking it. Or recommending it. It's very important to me that the energy drink I choose is not causing me any harm. I just turned sixty-three yesterday and I want to have many more years to enjoy these
