Diabetes Symptoms: How to Reverse Them
Diabetes Symptoms are simple to describe: * Fatigue: You are tired and have no energy * Excessive thirst/excessive urination * Unexplained weight loss * Your blood glucose level is 200 milligrams per deciliter or higher at any time, whether or not you are fasting Here is what is happening inside your body: Your blood sugar, glucose, is not able to enter your cells as it should. Because glucose is the fuel for your body, without fuel in your cells, you have lower energy. Your mind, as well as your muscles need glucose to do their work. As the glucose that cannot access your cells builds up in your bloodstream, it must be removed and excreted through your kidneys. This causes the excessive urination you are experiencing. Because you are urinating a lot, you get dehydrated and thus, you get very thirsty to correct this. If you are beginning to experience diabetes symptoms, they are only the start of your problems. Over time, the high levels of blood sugar will damage your blood vessels and your kidneys. Damage to the small blood vessels in your eyes may lead to blindness; damage to the blood vessels in your feet, for instance, may eventually make amputation necessary due to recurring infections and gangrene.
The question is, "What are you willing to do about these these diabetes symptoms?"Most doctors will attempt to control diabetes with drugs, but this does nothing to stop the progression of the disease. Medications are merely an expensive way to slow the onslaught of the damage diabetes will do to your body and quality of life. There is good news, however. Diabetes Type 2 is reversible in most cases with only a change in diet and some moderate exercise. One of the leading experts on diabetes is Dr. Neal Barnard, who pioneered the techniques of controlling and, in most cases eliminating the symptoms and all signs of the disease itself by helping his patients to change their diet. Dr. Barnard has created a new diabetes diet that has helped his patients "cut blood sugar, increase insulin sensitivity, and reduce or eliminate medications." Unlike the undesirable side-effects of diabetes medications, Dr. Barnard's diet approach has positive side-effects of "weight loss, lower cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, and increased energy." If you would like to learn more about Dr. Barnard's simple program, take a look at his book. (This information has really helped me to avoid diabetes, which has plagued both sides of my parents' family.) Just because you may be experiencing diabetes symptoms does not mean that you must suffer from the disease. Dr. Barnard's diet will let you eat as much as you want, while reversing your symptoms, in most cases without medication.
