Who would like to build a healthy lifestyle around helping other find the keys to health? That's what this book is all about.
Pilzer, a noted economist, self-made multimillionaire, and adviser to two U.S. presidents, has built a career to be excited about by showing others where the future is going.
The trend he describes in this 2007 edition are still unfolding as predicted, as the public is only beginning to grasp that a wellness lifestyle is preferrable to any amount of health care, which is toxic and dangerous.

A Very Important Book
The Long Emergency, by James Howard Kunstler, is proving to be the most accurate road map into our collective future, so far. While I don't agree with everything he says, Kunstler's exhaustive examination of how we got to where we are now and what our options are for moving ahead into a future of less oil are essential for predicting how things are likely to turn out. Whether you agree or disagree, Kunstler gets the major issues that will determine our future out on the table for discussion. Without knowing the issues and all our options for dealing with them, it is impossible to make informed decisions of how we shall live in order to avoid the negatives and embrace the desirable possibilities for our future. So, what's it going to be? Will technology triumph and allow us to continue our "happy motoring experience" of living in suburbia? Or, will we as a civilization collapse when the cheap petroleum energy source runs out? You'll have to read the book to find out. Although Kunstler is not focused on dietary issues specifically in the book, he does point out that our whole modern world -- especially our food supply -- depend on cheap and dependable supplies of oil and natural gas. There is no substitute. This implies a return to an organic, sustainable, solar-powered agriculture. This will require a lot more human and animal labor, which may solve much of our unemployment problem. We'll soon see. Jams Howard Kunstler has also written a couple of novels that describe life after The Long Emergency. These are World Made By Hand, which I have read, and The Witch of Hebron, which I have not read (except for an excerpt on Kunstler.com). Like them or hate them -- They will force you to think.
