Best Energy Drink: My Criteria for an Effective Energy Drink with No Dangerous Side-Effects
* It is made with healthful ingredients
* The buzz is a long-acting, mellow, non-jittery that is transparent--it makes you feel GOOD, while it empowers you to do what you want to do. Guarana is the best stimulant for this. It doesn't just give you a quick, powerful rush and then quickly wash out of your system leaving you wide awake but craving another dose like cheap anhydrous caffeine does.
Guarana has "soul", a warm happy high that caffeine doesn't cause.
* It isn't loaded with sugar of any kind. Sugar is a short-lived source of energy, causing a spike in insulin production when it hits your bloodstream.
This, over a period of time, creates insulin resistance, which is the first step toward diabetes, type II. Better to have very little natural fruit sugar with the guarana to catalyze a thermogenic effect, forcing your energized body to burn fat stores. (Most energy drinks fail this low-sugar test.)
* The best energy drink, from my perspective should be a bargain. It shouldn't be overpriced. The best way to get this is to buy direct from the manufacturer in reasonable quantities--say, a month's supply. Paying $2.89 for a can of the leading brand, containing WAAAYY too much sugar and caffeine is stupid, when you can buy a better buzz, delivered to your door in powdered form (so you can make it hot or cold, as strong as you like it) for about $1.25 per serving, delivered to your door. Why pay more for something that is less healthy?
* Finally, the best energy drink will give anyone over eighteen the opportunity--if they want it--to refer others to the company to earn commissions. If you really like an energy drink, why not get paid when you do some advertising for them? The big name brands don't offer this option. That's partly why they're so expensive--they pay millions to advertise and pay a professional sales force to keep them on the shelves at your local store.
So, most commercial energy drink brands use cheap ingredients like anhydrous caffeine and high fructose corn sweetener and then spend a lot of money on Advertising and cool packaging. Do you want a cool-looking can or a good, long, healthy energy high?
If the brand that I choose because I like the buzz the best--and is healthiest, low in sugar--and pays me to help tell the world about it, I am happy to tell the world about the best energy drink. That is not selling, to me, because I am just telling people I know what is the best, by my criteria. If they prefer lots of sugar and mega-doses of caffeine and whatever else, then that's fine.
Some people will appreciate a healthier drink and some won't. So what? Find the smart ones who "get it."
The way I see it, the energy drink craze is a technically legal way big business can sell drugs to kids for big profits. We know that high levels of sugar and caffeine cause health problems, but they are not illegal, so the big brands can have a field day and over a period of years, the consumers can deal with the health consequences.
I consider the long term health consequences of energy drinks and that's the main reason I offer what I have found to be the best.
If my criteria make sense to you, then I hope this review is helpful, because I don't want to see a whole generation messed up by diabetes and possible heart problems from the legal, but unhealthy, energy drinks that are flooding the market.
Be smart, so you can live long and enjoy all of life--not just the first few years of it, and then be forced to deal with weight gain, diabetes, or heart disease, etc.
BTW, the best energy drink is an improvement over the buzz you get from coffee and tea. I like the taste of coffee, but the effect for me is too strong and not the calm happy buzz I like.
The buzz from coffee and tea don't last all that long, either.
Like a lot of people, I still want energy and a well-formulated energy drink can be a healthy option, providing--in addition--some B vitamins, and other nutrients that most folks don't get enough of. So, for an older person, I've got no complaint against energy drinks, IF they are designed intelligently.
A big plus for my best energy drink is that it has helped me defeat unhealthy food cravings and burn off a few extra pounds. It makes the radical shift to a Healthy Planet Diet a lot easier.
Crave Energy Drink: With only one gram of sugar per serving, some healthy vitamin energy co-factors, and energy provided by mostly guarana, with some caffeine and kola nut, Crave is a strong contender. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty good on paper. My main objection is the high price package one must buy: $74.95 plus shipping for fifty packs that claim to make 100 servings. As a marketer, I don't find that an attractive price for most energy drink buyers.
GBG Energy Matrix: This is one I have tried -- It smells and tastes medicinal. It is designed to meet the FDA standards so it can claim to be "low glycemic" and "thermogenic". Very low calories. Totally powered by caffeine and didn't give me the warm, happy glow that guarana does. It is difficult to find out from their Web site exactly how much the product costs. Another negative was that management seemed to have little experience in running a nutritional marketing company. Not a good sign, for a start-up company.
Verve Energy Drink: would be a strong contender for the Best Energy Drink Web site. Very impressive site, lots of video and testimonials with good-looking people, BUT the product has 18 grams of sugar per serving. Totally powered by guarana, which I like; lots of vitamins we all need every day, so they get points for that, too. Experienced management and marketing team, too.Verve also comes in shot form. The price of the energy drink is $2.71 per 8-ounce can! This does offer a good selection of vitamins, phytonutrients, etc., in addition to the energy, but my main complaint here is the high sugar content. The no-sugar formula contains sucralose instead, which to me is worse.
Finally, my choice for best energy drink is A.C.T. Energy. It has the energy, only four grams of sugar, which I find is comfortable. It has the energy-producing nutrients, plus guarana. Comes in cans, power shots, and a dry mix that allows me to make it hot, like a tea, or cold, or strong, like a shot. Plus, the powder formula saves on shipping costs.
Below is the banner to my DrinkACT site, where you can learn all about what I have found to be the best energy drink. After a year and a half, I don't tire of it. I get two or three servings out of a 15-gram travel pouch of the powder. Mix it with green tea for a bigger boost, if you like.
The best prices--the same as I pay--are obtained by those who click on the "Sign Up Free" button in the middle of the DrinkACT home page. There is no obligation. No one will call or harass you to sell A.C.T. or any of that. Joining just gives you a great energy drink and a free Web site, where you can place orders and learn more about the company and the products.
The management has a lot of experience in the nutritional marketing business. Doctor Joel Wallach, is behind the company and he is a naturopath and the author of the phenomenal "Dead Doctors Don't Lie" recording and books. A very highly respected person and management team in the Top 30 network marketing companies, according to Daren C. Falter's list of best companies.
I will be compensated by the company if you choose to try A.C.T. through my link below. Contact me if you have questions. I am here to help you.
